187 Ride or Die is a vehicular combat game set in a contemporary urban street world. You drive tuned cars through city and desert routes while a passenger handles a mounted weapon, so runs mix racing lines with shooting at rival vehicles. The camera and controls let you switch focus between driving and gunning, and events include straight races, chases and elimination-style battles against gang rivals. Cars can be selected and upgraded as you progress through a story mode told with cutscenes between missions, and weapons range from small arms to heavier mounted guns. Damage and destruction feed into the objectives, with wrecking opponents often as important as finishing first. Multiplayer options let two players compete on the PlayStation 2.
