A baseball game for the original PlayStation that uses polygonal players and 3D stadium environments rather than sprite-based graphics. Fielders and batters were animated using motion capture, giving swings, pitches and dives a filmed look, and camera angles shift between pitching, batting and fielding views as play develops. On the mound you select pitch type and placement; at the plate you time your swing and can adjust your position in the box, while base running and fielding fall under your control once the ball is live. The game is built around real major league players and includes options for exhibition games as well as longer play, with adjustable settings for difficulty and game length. Commentary and crowd effects accompany matches, and multiple players can compete head to head.
