40 Winks is a 3D platformer for the PlayStation in which you play as siblings Ruff and Tumble, who are shrunk down and drawn into the world of dreams. The 40 Winks of the title are dream creatures you need to recover, and collecting them is what opens the way forward through the game. You explore themed dream levels, jumping between platforms, solving simple environmental puzzles and dealing with enemies while gathering items scattered around each area. Special costumes let your character take on different forms with abilities suited to particular obstacles, changing how you tackle a given stretch of level. You can switch between the two siblings, and progress is tracked by how many Winks you have rescued as you work toward the game's nightmare-themed antagonist.
