7 Wonders of the Ancient World is a tile-matching puzzle game for PlayStation 2. You clear coloured blocks from a grid by matching them in groups, and the pieces you remove supply the labour and material that raise a monument at the side of the screen. Each stage is tied to one of the wonders of the ancient world, so progress is measured by watching a structure rise brick by brick as you keep clearing the board. Special pieces and power-ups appear as you play, letting you sweep larger sections of the grid or deal with awkward stacks. The pace is unhurried compared with reaction-based puzzlers, and the loop of clearing tiles and advancing construction is designed for short sessions. Controls are simple, using the pad to move a cursor over the grid.
