This PlayStation version of A Bug's Life is a 3D platform game based on the Pixar movie. You control Flik the ant through levels set among grass, soil, water and the insect city, with the camera following him in third person as he runs, jumps and climbs across oversized scenery. Berries serve as throwable ammunition against beetles, spiders and other hostile bugs, and levels are stocked with grain and tokens to gather while completing goals for characters from the film. Boss fights and story cutscenes follow the outline of the movie's plot. Stages are self-contained and reward poking around for hidden pickups, and the difficulty is pitched toward a family audience familiar with the film.
