AFL Premiership 2006 is an Australian Rules football game for the PlayStation 2, built around the licensed AFL competition and its clubs. You control a full side on the field, handballing, kicking, marking and tackling as play moves between the arcs, with set shots at goal from marks and free kicks. Alongside single exhibition matches you can play through a season toward the finals, managing your team as results accumulate. The presentation follows the conventions of televised football coverage, with broadcast-style camera angles, on-screen scoreboards and commentary during play. Options let you adjust match length and difficulty to suit shorter games or a fuller simulation. Multiplayer matches against a second player on the same console are supported for head-to-head games.
