Alien Trilogy is a first-person shooter drawing its settings and enemies from the first three Alien films. You take the role of Ellen Ripley, moving through corridors, colony interiors and prison-facility levels while xenomorphs, facehuggers and human-scale hazards attack from doorways and vents. Movement is on a flat plane in the style of early 1990s shooters, with sprite-based enemies, keycard hunting, switch puzzles and secret areas to uncover. Your arsenal builds up as you explore, and ammunition and health pickups are scattered through the maps. Levels are grouped by film, with boss encounters including alien queens closing out sections. The presentation leans on dim lighting, motion-tracker-style radar and sound cues to signal enemies approaching before you can see them. Single-player only.
