Arena Football brings the indoor version of American football to the PlayStation 2, with the smaller field, eight players per side and padded walls that keep the ball in play. Because the field is short and the rebound nets around the uprights can send missed kicks back into play, the game favours fast scoring and constant action rather than long drives. Rules specific to the indoor game, such as restrictions on player movement before the snap and the two-way roles filled by some players, are part of the simulation. You can play single games or take a team through a season, calling plays on offence and defence in the usual style of console football games. Teams and players are drawn from the Arena Football League.
