Army Men: Green Rogue continues the plastic-soldier war between the Green and Tan armies, this time as an action shooter built around a single heavily armed super soldier. You move through outdoor and industrial environments viewed from an overhead angle, clearing out Tan infantry, vehicles and gun positions with a rotating selection of weapons and explosives. Enemies come in waves and from multiple directions, so most of the play involves keeping moving, picking up ammunition and health, and destroying scenery and emplacements that block the route forward. The presentation keeps the series' toy-scale conceit, with soldiers, tanks and fortifications rendered as molded plastic in larger-than-life settings. Progress is mission-based, and levels end once objectives are met or the area is cleared. Single-player throughout.
