Army of Two: The 40th Day on PSP is a third-person shooter starring the mercenaries Salem and Rios, caught in Shanghai as a coordinated attack tears the city apart. The series' focus on paired combat carries over: you work alongside your partner, drawing enemy fire, flanking positions and coordinating attacks rather than fighting alone. Play involves taking cover, managing weapons and pushing through urban environments filled with armed opposition. Weapon customization lets you modify firearms with different parts, and the game presents situations where you choose how to handle civilians and surrendering enemies. The handheld version is built for PSP controls and includes cooperative play with another player. Presentation uses cutscenes and radio chatter to move the story between combat encounters.
