Auto Destruct is a vehicular combat game for PlayStation 1. You drive an armed car through open city environments, taking on mission objectives such as destroying targets, chasing down enemy vehicles and reaching locations under time pressure. Streets are navigable in multiple directions rather than laid out as fixed race tracks, so route choice and knowing the layout both matter. Your vehicle carries weapons that can be fired while driving, and it can be upgraded and repaired between missions using resources earned from successful runs. Damage accumulates during play, meaning heavy fighting or careless collisions can end an attempt early. The presentation is grim and near-future, with a mission structure that gradually raises the difficulty and introduces tougher opposition as you progress.
