B-Boy is a breakdancing game for the PlayStation 2. You perform routines by entering controller inputs that chain together footwork, freezes, power moves and transitions, with the aim of linking moves cleanly rather than mashing buttons. Matches are structured as dance battles in which your performance is scored against an opponent, and the emphasis is on timing, variety and keeping a routine flowing without stumbling. The game features licensed hip hop and breaks on its soundtrack and presents its dancers and venues in a street-dance setting. Modes let you compete against opponents and build up your dancer's repertoire of moves. It is a rhythm and performance title rather than a fighting game, so success comes from learning move lists and how they connect.
