B-Boy on PlayStation Portable is a handheld version of the breakdancing game, built around performing routines through controller inputs. You string together footwork, freezes and power moves, with scoring based on how cleanly and creatively you link them rather than on raw speed. Battles pit your dancer against an opponent, each taking turns to perform, and you work on expanding your repertoire of moves as you progress. The presentation leans on hip hop and breaks music and a street-dance setting, with venues and dancer animations modelled on real breaking styles. As a rhythm and performance game it asks you to learn move lists and transitions, then chain them into routines under pressure. Play is single-player focused, with battles against computer-controlled dancers.
