Bakugan: Defenders of the Core is an action game for PSP based on the Bakugan animated series. Instead of the card-and-field battling of the earlier game, this one puts you in direct control during fights: you play as a brawler who summons a Bakugan and battles opposing creatures in arenas, using attacks and special abilities in real time. A story mode carries you through a series of encounters, and progress lets you unlock and use different Bakugan from the license, each with its own attacks. The presentation leans on the show's characters and cel-shaded art style. Battles are short and self-contained, making it suited to handheld play in brief sessions.
