Ballblazer Champions is a futuristic sports game for the original PlayStation, following on from the earlier Ballblazer. You pilot a hovering craft across an enclosed playfield and try to force a ball into your opponent's goal while blocking their attempts on yours. Matches are fast and played from a first-person style view of the field, with the ball changing possession as the two craft collide and jostle for control. Different competitors have their own handling characteristics, and you can play through single-player competition or against another player. The 3D presentation and rendered arenas update the abstract look of the original, but the core remains a simple, direct one-on-one goal-scoring duel built around speed and positioning.
