Batman Begins for PlayStation 2 is an action game adapting the Christopher Nolan film, tracing Bruce Wayne's training abroad and his first outings as Batman in Gotham. It uses footage, character likenesses and voice work from the movie to frame its missions. Combat combines melee fighting with a strong emphasis on fear: you stay in shadow, use gadgets and destructible surroundings to startle armed enemies, and take out intimidated opponents more easily. Batarangs and the grapple serve both as tools for reaching high ground and for setting up encounters. Driving sections place you in the Tumbler for pursuits through Gotham. Completing objectives unlocks bonus material relating to the film and its production.
