Battle Engine Aquila puts you in control of a transforming war machine that can switch between a walking mech mode and a flying jet mode at any time. Missions take place across large open battlefields where two factions fight over territory with tanks, aircraft, gun emplacements and infantry, and much of the combat happens around you whether or not you take part. Objectives typically involve destroying key installations, defending friendly forces or clearing routes for allied units, and switching forms lets you cover ground quickly by air then land to fight at close range. The machine carries multiple weapons, including guns and missiles, with a shield gauge that recharges over time. Presentation includes briefings and story sequences framing the conflict between the two warring powers.
