A third-person action game based on the Beast Wars branch of Transformers, in which Maximals and Predacons take animal forms. You select a character and complete mission-based stages, switching between beast mode and robot mode as the situation requires. Beast mode is generally faster and better suited to traversal, while robot mode gives you access to ranged weapons for combat. Levels task you with objectives such as reaching locations, destroying targets and defeating enemy Transformers, with environments navigated in full 3D. Each character has different handling, weapons and durability, so the roster changes how a mission plays. Camera-relative movement and lock-on shooting form the basis of combat, and boss fights pit you against opposing characters from the series.
