Blade Dancer: Lineage of Light is a role-playing game for the PlayStation Portable. You lead a small party through a fantasy world, alternating between town hubs where you talk to characters and prepare, and field and dungeon areas where you fight enemies. Battles are menu-driven, with each character taking turns to attack, use skills or items, and heal. Progress comes from levelling up, equipping better weapons and armour, and working through the story as new party members join. Item and equipment creation from gathered materials plays a part in outfitting the group. Presentation uses anime-styled character art, isometric-leaning environments and voiced story scenes. It is a fairly traditional handheld JRPG in structure, with story sequences separating the exploration and combat sections.
