BlazBlue: Continuum Shift II is a 2D fighting game for the PlayStation Portable. Matches are one-on-one, fought on 2D planes with hand-drawn sprite characters and multi-layered backgrounds. The control layout uses weak, medium and strong attacks plus a Drive button, which triggers a mechanic unique to each fighter: some manage resources, some control space with projectiles or summons, and others gain special counters or stances. Systems such as Barrier blocking, bursts and super moves round out the combat. The roster includes Ragna the Bloodedge, Jin Kisaragi, Noel Vermillion and other characters from the series. Alongside standard arcade, versus and training options, the game carries an extensive story mode told through branching visual-novel scenes with voiced dialogue, plus additional single-player challenge content.
