Blitz: Overtime is an arcade-style American football game for the PlayStation Portable, part of the Blitz series. It drops the rulebook of simulation football in favour of fast seven-on-seven action, short fields, exaggerated hits and playbooks that include unrealistic trick plays. Games are quick, scoring is high, and building momentum unlocks boosted offensive and defensive states that swing plays in your favour. Injuries and hard tackles are part of the design, and there is no NFL licence, so teams and players are fictional. Alongside quick exhibition matches, the game includes a campaign in which you take a team through a season, manage your roster and deal with the consequences of the punishment your players hand out and absorb. Multiplayer head-to-head play is supported.
