Bloody Roar is a one-on-one fighting game in which each character can transform into a beast form. Fighters battle in 3D arenas using punches, kicks, throws and combos, and filling a meter allows a shift into a stronger animal shape with faster attacks and greater reach. The transformation also acts as a resource: taking hits drains it and can force you back to human form, so managing when to change is part of the strategy. The roster is made up of zoanthropes, humans able to take on animal forms such as a wolf, a tiger and a rabbit, each with their own moves and playstyle. Modes include arcade-style ladder play against the computer, versus matches for two players and practice.
