A PlayStation Portable release in Hudson's maze-and-bombs series. You move Bomberman around grid-based arenas, placing bombs that detonate in a cross-shaped blast to break destructible blocks, uncover power-ups and take out opponents. Power-ups increase your bomb count, extend explosion range and add abilities such as kicking bombs, and the same blasts that clear your way can end your run if you misjudge an escape route. Alongside single-player stages, the game supports multiplayer battles in which players compete in enclosed arenas until one is left standing, using the handheld's wireless features for local play. The portable format suits the short, self-contained rounds the series is built around, and the top-down view keeps the whole arena visible at once.
