Bounty Hounds is a science-fiction action game for the PlayStation Portable. You play a mercenary fighting through alien-held territory on contract, working through mission-based stages filled with enemy creatures and troops. Combat is close-quarters and melee-focused, built on chained attacks against groups of enemies, with ranged weaponry available as well. Progress comes from equipment: you collect and buy weapons and combat gear, including mechanical arm-mounted hardware that changes your attack style, and you upgrade your loadout between missions. Levels are broken into contained areas with objectives to complete before moving on, and boss encounters cap off sections of the campaign. The presentation is dark military sci-fi, with story sequences delivered between missions to frame the war you are fighting in.
