Brave Story: New Traveler is a turn-based role-playing game for the PlayStation Portable, set in the fantasy world of Vision from the Brave Story novel. You play as a boy from the ordinary world who crosses over into Vision hoping to change the fate of someone close to him, and the journey takes you through towns, wilderness and dungeons as you gather companions. Battles are menu-driven encounters with a party of characters, using physical attacks, magic and items, and character growth follows a class-and-level structure. The presentation uses colorful cartoon-styled visuals with hand-drawn character art in dialogue scenes. The story is told in a fairly linear fashion with plenty of conversation between chapters, making it a fit for players who want a traditional console-style JRPG on the handheld.
