This PlayStation release collects two Taito arcade games in one package. Bubble Bobble is the single-screen puzzle-platformer in which you play a bubble dragon, trapping the enemies on each stage inside bubbles and bursting them to clear the screen, with fruit and power-ups appearing as rewards for chained pops. Rainbow Islands is a vertically scrolling platformer where you create rainbows to attack enemies and to use as temporary platforms, climbing each island to the top while collecting items and gems along the way. Both games use small, self-contained stages and simple controls built around one central mechanic, and both support two players. The collection keeps the arcade structure of each game, so runs are short and based on learning stage layouts and enemy patterns.
