Burnout Dominator is an arcade racer centred on maintaining boost. Rather than Crash mode junctions, the focus is on burnout chains: keeping a boost run going by continuously drifting, driving into oncoming traffic and passing close to other cars, then linking one full boost bar into the next. The Dominator progression is split into series of events across a range of vehicle classes, mixing standard races, Eliminator events where the trailing car is removed at intervals, Road Rage bouts built around wrecking rivals, Burning Lap time trials and Maniac runs scored on aggressive driving. Tracks run on public roads with live traffic, and crashes are shown in slow motion before you are placed back on the road. Cars are unlocked as you clear events on the PlayStation 2.
