A third-person science fiction action game for the original PlayStation. You play as a soldier fighting back against an alien occupation of Earth, moving through military installations, ruined urban areas and enemy facilities. Play combines gunfights with human collaborators and alien forces, cover-based shooting, and sections that require finding keycards, operating machinery and slipping past defences. You collect and upgrade a range of weapons as the campaign progresses, and stronger enemy types appear as the story moves toward the source of the invasion. Environments are rendered in 3D with fixed-camera and following-camera views, and the story is delivered through cutscenes and radio contact between missions. It is a single-player campaign released late in the PlayStation's lifespan, pushing the hardware with detailed character models and atmospheric lighting.
