Cabela's Outdoor Adventures is a hunting game for the PlayStation 2, carrying the licence of the outdoor retailer Cabela's. You take the role of a hunter working through outings in a range of wilderness settings, tracking game animals on foot and lining up shots from cover or from a stand. Play involves scouting for tracks and signs, watching wind direction and animal behaviour, using calls and scents to draw animals closer, and choosing from a selection of licensed rifles, shotguns and bows. Successful hunts are scored on the animals you take, and progress unlocks further hunts and equipment. Presentation leans on open outdoor environments and first-person aiming rather than on story, with a mix of patient stalking and quick reaction shooting depending on the situation.
