Final Fronts is the PlayStation 2 entry in the World at War line, built as its own game rather than a straight port of the console versions released alongside it. You fight through separate World War II campaigns, taking the role of American troops in the Pacific and Allied soldiers in Europe, moving between beach assaults, jungle fighting and pushes through war-damaged towns. Play is standard first-person shooter fare for the era: iron-sight aiming, grenades, mounted guns and vehicle-supported set pieces, with squadmates advancing alongside you and objectives marked as each mission progresses. Checkpoints handle saving during levels. The presentation is scaled to the PlayStation 2 hardware, with shorter, more linear stages than the higher-end releases. A single-player campaign is the focus here.
