An updated version of the Capcom and SNK crossover fighter, adding extra characters to the roster, including Dan Hibiki and Joe Higashi, along with balance adjustments. The core structure is unchanged: you assemble a team by spending a fixed ratio allowance across fighters of varying point values, then choose between the Capcom and SNK grooves, which alter how your super meter fills and what defensive and offensive options are available to you. Bouts are one-on-one, with the next team member entering after each knockout. This PlayStation release keeps the 2D sprite presentation and includes single-player arcade play along with versus and practice options for two players sharing the console.
