Carnage Heart is a strategy game about designing and programming combat robots rather than piloting them. You build each mech by choosing a chassis, legs, weapons and equipment within weight and cost limits, then write its behaviour using a visual programming grid of instruction chips covering movement, scanning, targeting and evasion. Once a design is finished you assign your machines to a campaign fought over territories, and battles play out automatically as your programming meets the enemy's. You can only watch, take notes and revise the logic between engagements. Managing factories, production and money is part of the campaign layer, since losses must be replaced. The result is a game where most of your time is spent in menus and the programming editor, with the fights serving as tests of your work.
