Champions of Norrath is an action role-playing game set in the EverQuest world. You pick a character from a set of race and class combinations, then work through dungeons, caves and outdoor areas from an overhead view, clearing rooms of enemies with melee attacks, ranged weapons and spells. Combat is direct and fast, with attacks mapped to the face buttons rather than menus. Defeated enemies and containers drop weapons, armour and other equipment, and levelling up lets you spend points on statistics and skills to shape your build. The game supports cooperative play for several players on one console, and characters can be carried between sessions. If you enjoy loot-driven dungeon crawling on a couch with friends, this is that style of game on PlayStation 2.
