Circuit Breakers is an overhead racing game for the PlayStation. Instead of a behind-the-car view, the camera looks down on the track and pulls back or zooms in to keep the competing vehicles on screen at once, which keeps every racer visible as the field spreads out. You pick from a selection of small, exaggerated cars and drive through twisting circuits, picking up items and weapons scattered around the course to use against rivals. Handling is arcade-style rather than simulation-focused, with drifting and quick direction changes rather than careful braking. Multiplayer is a central part of the design, with several players sharing the single screen at once, which makes for cramped, contact-heavy races. Presentation is bright and cartoonish, matching the toy-like scale of the cars.
