Cleopatra's Fortune is a falling-block puzzle game with an ancient Egyptian theme. Blocks and treasure pieces drop into the playfield, and rather than clearing straight lines you surround treasures with a closed border of blocks to make them and the enclosing frame disappear. Coffins and other obstacles complicate the field, and chains of clears score more than isolated ones, so play rewards planning several drops ahead rather than reacting piece by piece. Stages continue until the screen fills, with the pace increasing as you progress. The PlayStation release includes single-player play and a two-player versus mode where clears send interference to the opponent. Presentation is bright and cartoonish, with Egyptian motifs in the backgrounds and pieces, and the rules are simple to learn while leaving room for high-level scoring play.
