College Hoops 2K8 is a college basketball simulation for the PlayStation 2 built around licensed NCAA Division I teams, arenas and uniforms. Games are presented in television style, with commentary, band music and student sections adding to the atmosphere. Gameplay favours simulation over arcade action, asking you to run set plays, work the post, use screens and defend without fouling. A programme management mode covers recruiting high school prospects, developing players across seasons, scheduling and pushing toward conference titles and the national tournament. You can also play single exhibition games or tournaments, alone or against another player on the same console. Difficulty settings and gameplay sliders adjust shooting, fatigue and defensive behaviour, while statistics are tracked for players and teams throughout a season.
