Combat Elite: WWII Paratroopers is a Second World War action game for the PlayStation 2, played from a pulled-back overhead perspective rather than in first person. You command a small group of Allied paratroopers, moving them through European battlefields to clear enemy positions, hold ground and complete objectives, with the option to switch between soldiers and give simple orders to the rest of the squad. Combat is arcade-paced, with infantry weapons, grenades and emplaced guns, and vehicles and mounted positions appear at points during the campaign. The game supports two players cooperatively on the same screen, so a second person can join in and control part of the force. Missions are set across recognisable wartime locations, with briefings framing each stage of the advance.
