Red Alert is a real-time strategy game set in an alternate history where the Allied forces and the Soviet Union fight for control of Europe. You pick a side and work through its campaign, gathering ore to fund construction, laying out a base, and producing infantry, tanks, ships and aircraft. The two factions have distinct arsenals: Soviet play leans on heavy armour and Tesla weaponry, while Allied forces rely on faster units and naval support. Missions mix base-building assaults with smaller objective-driven operations, and live-action video sequences introduce the story between them. This PlayStation version maps unit selection and order-giving to the controller, letting you scroll the battlefield, group units and place structures with an on-screen cursor.
