Commandos 2: Men of Courage is a real-time tactics game set during the Second World War. You direct a small team of Allied specialists through missions in Europe, North Africa and the Pacific, with each character bringing a distinct skill set: close-quarters knife work, long-range sniping, underwater infiltration, demolitions and disguise among them. Success depends on stealth and planning rather than firepower. You watch guard vision cones, time movements between patrols, hide bodies, distract sentries and use ladders, vehicles and enemy uniforms to reach objectives. Levels are detailed dioramas viewed from an angled overhead camera, and many can be entered on multiple routes. This PlayStation 2 version adapts the mouse-driven original to the controller, with a cursor for issuing orders and quick switching between team members.
