Conflict: Vietnam is a squad-based third-person shooter set during the Vietnam War. You command a small team of soldiers, switching directly between them at any time and issuing orders to the rest, working through jungle, village and tunnel environments. Objectives typically involve reaching extraction points, clearing enemy positions and keeping your squad alive, with limited supplies of ammunition and medical kits shared among the group. Squad members carry different weapon loadouts and can be repositioned and told to hold or advance, so fights often involve setting up covering fire before pushing forward. Wounded soldiers can be treated in the field rather than lost outright. Progress and squad experience carry between missions, and the game supports cooperative play so a second player can share control of the team.
