Constantine is a third-person action game based on the film, casting you as John Constantine, an occult detective who moves between the ordinary world and a hellish mirror version of it. Combat mixes conventional firearms with supernatural abilities and relics, and you shift between the two versions of a location to reach areas or deal with enemies that only exist on one side. Demons and possessed opponents make up most of the opposition, and holy water, crosses and similar items are used as consumable weapons. Levels are largely linear and interspersed with story sequences drawn from the film's plot. Health and ammunition are found in the environment, and boss encounters against larger demonic figures punctuate the campaign.
