Cool Boarders is a snowboarding game for the original PlayStation. You pick a rider and board, then head down mountain courses, weaving between obstacles and taking jumps while building up a score with aerial tricks. Trick input relies on button and direction combinations performed in the air, and landing cleanly is essential, since a botched touchdown costs you speed and points. Runs are timed, so there is a constant balance between pushing for a fast descent and setting up for bigger air. Modes cover straightforward downhill racing and trick-focused runs, with courses varying in steepness, terrain and hazards. The presentation is early 3D, with a first-person or trailing camera view and a focus on momentum and control rather than simulation detail.
