Countdown Vampires is a survival horror game for PlayStation. You play a police officer who responds to a call at a large casino resort, only to find the guests transformed into vampires after an outbreak. Play follows the survival horror template of the era: fixed camera angles over pre-rendered backdrops, tank-style character movement, limited ammunition and inventory space, and doors and keys gating your route through the building. Alongside conventional weapons you can use a special serum to restore infected people rather than destroy them, which affects how you handle encounters. Exploration is broken up by combat and by puzzles that require finding items in one area and using them in another, with cutscenes carrying the story between locations.
