This PSP release of Crash of the Titans takes the series in a brawling direction. Crash moves through connected environments fighting groups of enemies with melee combos, grabs and throws rather than concentrating solely on platform jumping. Titan jacking is the central idea: weaken a large mutant and Crash can climb onto its back to control it, using its heavy attacks to clear enemies and smash obstacles, with different titans offering different moves. Doctor Neo Cortex and Nina Cortex appear in the story, and the presentation keeps the cartoon slapstick humour and exaggerated animation associated with the series. The controls and level layouts are adapted for the PSP's handheld setup, making it suited to shorter play sessions.
