Def Jam Fight for NY: The Takeover is a fighting game for the PlayStation Portable, built on the same premise as the console Fight for NY: hip-hop artists and original characters brawling in clubs, garages and other urban venues. Fights combine punches, kicks, grapples and throws with environmental attacks, letting you drive opponents into walls, fences and surrounding crowds, and a special meter powers a heavy signature move. A story mode has you playing a created fighter working through matches across the city, earning money to spend on gear and stat upgrades while choosing and mixing fighting styles. The handheld version adjusts controls and presentation for the PSP and includes its own roster and story content. Wireless multiplayer lets you take fights against another PSP owner nearby.
