Delta Force Black Hawk Down is a first-person shooter in which you play a US special forces operator during operations in Somalia. Missions send you through Mogadishu streets, markets and open desert areas, with objectives that include clearing buildings, escorting convoys, defending positions and providing support from vehicles and helicopters. You carry a limited selection of weapons per mission, chosen from an assortment of assault rifles, machine guns and grenades, and often fight alongside AI squadmates while receiving radio orders. Encounters mix close-quarters interior fighting with longer-range engagements across open ground. The PlayStation 2 version adapts the PC game's campaign for console controls, and includes multiplayer options for competitive play. Difficulty settings adjust enemy numbers and how much damage you can absorb.
