Destruction Derby 2 expands on the original's mix of racing and deliberate crashing. You compete on oval tracks, twisting road circuits and enclosed arenas, earning points both for race position and for the damage you inflict on rival cars. Vehicles deform progressively as they take hits, with panels crumpling and handling degrading until a car is wrecked and out of the event. Added to this entry are tracks with jumps and pit lane repairs, along with the return of arena bowl matches where the aim is simply to be the last car running. A championship season strings events together, and multiplayer lets a second player join the demolition. Damage modelling and physics are more elaborate than in the first game, with cars able to roll and flip.
