Disney's Dinosaur for the PlayStation is based on the Disney animated film of the same name. You control Aladar, the iguanodon from the movie, moving through a series of prehistoric environments made up of forests, caves, deserts and burnt landscapes. Play is third-person action-platforming: you run, jump and charge through stages, avoid hazards such as fire and water, contend with predators, and gather items scattered through the levels. Some sections have you protecting or escorting other characters from the film's herd as they cross dangerous terrain. Story sequences between stages follow the film's plot. The game is aimed at younger players, with straightforward objectives and a checkpoint system, and it uses fixed camera angles and simple button controls throughout.
