Downstream Panic is a puzzle game built around flowing water. Each stage strands a group of fish and asks you to get them safely to a goal, and the only way to move them is to move the water. You reshape the level itself, breaking blocks, opening channels and using the objects placed around the screen so that water and the fish inside it run downhill toward safety. Physics does the rest, so the challenge lies in reading a stage and deciding what to remove and in what order. Hazards and obstacles along the route can kill fish, and stages generally set a target for how many you must save. Later levels introduce more complicated terrain and additional tools, and the PSP version is played with the system's buttons and cursor-style aiming.
