A one-on-one fighting game for PlayStation drawn from the Dragon Ball Z anime, using 2D sprite characters over 3D-rendered backdrops. Fights allow movement in the air as well as on the ground, and the camera pulls back when opponents separate so both fighters stay visible while they trade energy blasts at range. Melee combos, guarding, dashes and ki-powered special attacks make up the core moveset, with recognisable finishing techniques for the roster's Z fighters and villains. Standard modes cover single matches against the computer, two-player versus play and tournament-style play. Character voices and stage art follow the series, and the roster spans heroes, transformations and antagonists from across the anime's story arcs.
